Street Soccer on Piazza Maggiore
Football event in the heart of Bologna
A very special football event was held recently on Piazza Maggiore, the main square in the beautiful, medieval town of Bologna. A street soccer court was set up here, right in the heart of the town, a SoccerGround Advanced with a high quality artificial pitch measuring 23 x 40m, supplied by USP.
The mobile football pitch played host to a benefit match between servants of the city of Bologna and a team of FC Bologna professionals and Italian internationals. Faithful fans and former colleagues paid homage to Maurizio Cevenini who died last year. The Italians’ love of football and la dolce vita lasted long into the night, thanks to the mobile floodlight system. They played hard, they fought and they won.
